How to update the Windows Installer Service

Overview

Sometimes when an InfraWare program will not install, the problem is often due to an outdated Windows Installer Service.

Solution

The service can be updated with a free update from Microsoft.  It is best to get the update from MS, but InfraWare has a Fall 2006 version on our webserver at this location if you need it:
