Toggle Case with Shift + F3 in the ITC

Overview

In the ITC you can change the capitalization of words, sentences, or paragraphs by using the Keyboard Shortcut Shift + F3.  This shortcut is now available to use in the headers/footers.  This article details how this feature works, which is similar to the implementation in Microsoft Word.

Summary 

• Sentence Case:
  • When the selected text includes a punctuation mark (?.!) the selected words will be Sentence case with the first word selected in Initialcase and the rest of the words lowercase:
    
  • When the text selected does not include a punctuation mark the selected words will be Initial Case:
    

• Multiple highlighted/selected words:
  • If text is selected, all words within the highlighted area will toggle between lower case, Initial Case, and ALL CAPS.

• Single words:
  • When only one word is desired to be changed, that word does not need to be highligted, the cursor only needs to be touching the word (at the beginning, middle or end of a word) and then that word will toggle between lower case, Initial Case, and ALL CAPS.
