How does Tab Visibility work?

Answer / Solution

Tab Visibility

Administrators of the InfraWare 360 platform can manage the access of their Account users (Managers, System Administrators, Transcriptionists) by controlling the tabs they can see in the IMC and manage the access of the facility users (Authors, Facility Administrators, Facility Executives) by controlling the tabs they can see in the Portal.  The Account Administrator of an IW 360 facility is designated to manage users.

Manage Account User Access

To manage Account user access to the IMC, login to the InfraWare Management Console (IMC) and click on the Administration Tab and then click the Account subtab.  Scroll down to the Features section and click on the Manage link next to Tab Visibility.

Note:  The Account Settings page can be viewed in either a Basic view or Advanced view (with more detailed options).  The Tab Visibility setting displays in either view.

  • Select Account Level Only from the Facility Drop-down list.
  • Click Show IMC Tab Settings.

  • Scroll to the appropriate tab title and click Edit next to the subtab you would like to allow a specific role access to

  • Place a checkmark under the role (Manager, System Administrators, Transcriptionist)
  • Click Update
  • Repeat for each subtab you would like to add access

  • When done, scroll to the bottom of the window a click the Cancel button

Manage Facility User Access

  • In the IMC under the Administration tab, Facilities sub-tab, click on the name of the Facility for which you would like to Manage Tab Visibility.
  • Select Switch to Advanced View if you are in Basic View.
  • Scroll down to the Portal section.
  • Click Manage next to Tab Visibility.
  • Select the Facility from the Facility drop-down menu.
  • Click on Show Portal Tab Settings.

  • Scroll to the appropriate tab title and click Edit next to the subtab to which you would like to allow a specific role access.
  • Place a checkmark under the role (Author/Facility Administrator/Facility Executive).
  • Click Update.
  • Repeat for each subtab you would like to add access.

Note:  Permissions to have visibility to a tab are cumulative.  In other words, if a user has more than one role, they will be able to view all tabs allowed for each role.
