In my United Way work, one of my favorite programs is Success by Six, a program designed to help ensure children are ready to learn to read by age 6.  Recently, the program director launched an initiative called Real Men Read.  This program is designed to show children that reading is cool by providing male role models in the classroom.  More than 50 men have volunteered to read a series of books one time per month.  This is a picture of me with my class at Meadows Elementary School taught by Mrs. Akers.  We read "The Ugly Duckling" on this particular visit.  The kids are a delight!  I had forgotten how much positive energy 5 year-olds have.
